Dr. Abelard consults and provides training to hospitals, colleges, and organizations on a variety of topics, including suicide awareness, integrative health, team building, restraint reduction, personality preferences, mental health, Tele- mental health, and cultural awareness. Her research focuses on the use of Tele-behavioral health to teach Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner students.
