I see e-health (telemedicine, telehealth, digital health, m-health, remote patient monitoring, augmented intelligence, natural language processing and others) as having two intertwined common purposes: reversing the decades' long contraction of healthcare productivity and improving outcomes. Coached patient autonomy (co-production or patient activation) is achieved by integrating e-health modalities into patient care with each addition solidifying patient engagement. The engaged patient moves from passive healthcare to active healthsynergy, allowing for improved provider productivity and achievement of patient-centered outcomes. This presentation will outline the process and show how it contributes to quality management and value-based healthcare.
